I love the idea of sleeping in, although I still haven't quite connected that Friday's are not a work day. Although I could sleep away the day, there are things to be done. First things first...NEED FOOD, NEED COFFEE....I guess the best remedy with small window of time this morning is to combine the two. A mocha flavored protein shake will suffice my cravings.

Looking around...I really need to clean and organize my clothes & closets. I can't seem to find any of my tennis skirts....yeah yeah....insert joke. Somehow I feel the need to "dress the part" to play tennis. It's life in NYC all over again, always concerned that I was looking the part & dressed appropriately. Tennis is no different. A few weeks ago, I happened to mention to a friend that I wasn't working on Friday's and was available to play if they needed a sub. Well it has now turned into a joke, because I really do feel like a {stay at home mom, minus the kids & husband}. So back to trying to dress the part....I spend 15 minutes scrambling to find the appropriate outfit and rush out the door for an 8:30am match.

Playing tennis has always been a mental game for me, I consider it my own personal struggle from such a young age all the way into adulthood. I would say that I have always played - average. So now that I am playing 2-3 times a week, I have come to appreciate the sport and the fun that it brings me. And to notice that I have improved tremendously is a personal reward. It is the one sport I don't play with any of my friends, not that I wouldn't mind playing with any of them - its just that most of them don't play. Most of the people I grew up playing with are all disbursed throughout the country...so I have found some new "blood".

So how to spend the remainder of my day....well the list has been growing.

  1. Clean house, organize closets

  2. Make some banana bread (8 rotten bananas in the fridge should really get used)

  3. Go to the gym for a work out

  4. Enjoy the gorgeous day outside (the weekend is going to be rainy)

  5. Catch up on about 5 weeks of TV shows recorded

  6. Do some laundry

  7. Ideally I would prefer to make some plans socially for tonight, no such luck

  8. Catch up on personal emails

But instead I am spending my entire afternoon glued to a book...online.

Somehow, someone, somewhere has gotten me hooked on the TWILIGHT series books. So while nosing around on the internet last night, I found out there was another book to the 4 book saga....MIDNIGHT SUN. As if I wasn't already developing this silly high school crush on Robert Pattinson, I have now discovered that Stephanie Meyer had written Edward Cullen's version of TWILIGHT - with his own perspective to meeting Bella. So if you are not reading the books, I would suggest you "do not pass go, do not collect $100, go directly to your local library / bookstore". Here I sit on a gorgeous afternoon, enjoying the sun, birds chirping, reading 264 pages on the internet. Ahhhh....I am loving these Friday's off. See link to read MIDNIGHT SUN.

I am not really sure what to Blog about, what would be interesting for readers. Goal #1 - figure that out, take some photographs, post some of my favorites and develop a "Friday" identity. My own personal realization: Friday's don't seem to fit into my standard weekly ritual but also don't quite make it into the weekend agenda. They are a 'stand alone' day for me, almost like an alter-ego. Stay tuned...
